Black Friday Adventure

So today I left the house around 9 am thinking I'm gonna do some early Christmas shoppping, kid free.  I got to Target and was among many mothers who did not have the luxury of leaving their children at home and I felt sooo lucky to just be shopping by myself.  After being there for 2.5 hours wandering around the store I was ready to check out.  I get to the check out line and realize I don't have my credit card.  I left it on my in-table from doing some morning on-line Black Friday shopping.  I can't believe I did this, well actually I can.  I ask the lady if she can ring everything up and then keep it all together.  So, they do and I walk with the guy over to Customer Service and leave my name and cart.  I then proceed to go home and realize I have 1 miles worth of gas.  I don't have anything to buy gas with so I head home.  Grab the credit card and end up having to take the kid to give my husband a break so he can get the Christmas lights up.  I run in get the card, and make myself a half a turkey sandwich since I haven't eaten all morning.  While I'm trying to get Eli in the car Clancy (our dog) jumps in the car and snags the sandwich I left on the console that I was planning on eating on the way back to Target.  Damn!  I run in make us a new half to share.  We float down as many hills as we can to the gas station in neutral and make it.  We fill up and head to Target to purchase the items.  We get to customer service and Eli does fairly well since we just have to go in and purchase our cart.  I decide to walk and get two more items and add it to the load of crap we already have in the cart at customer service.  We do great and leave.  As we are in the parking lot, a bag of towels falls off the top and a couple behind me helps pick it up and put it back in the cart.  I load the car and leave.  I'm so proud that the trip was quick and we had no issues form Eli and were just in and out.  So we get home and I realize we are missing 6 towels of 8 that I purchased.  They never made it home.  I immediately get on phone to Target and the manager gal says they can check the lot and check the video coverage.  I think to myself I'm never getting these towels back if I don't get back in the car and go back to Target.  So in the car we go for the third time, meanwhile it's 12:30 (lunch time) and I can't believe I have to go back.  I throw Eli in the car no shoes and head to customer service and see how sympathetic I can looking being pregnant carting a kid around with no shoes.  After telling three people the story, waiting 20+ plus minutes,  they decide to look in the back and find 5 towels they found in the parking lot.  Thank god!  I have to eat the cost of one towel out of the whole ordeal.  My receipt clearly shows I paid for 8 towels Eli's patience starts to fade and decides he wants to take off his shirt.  I tell him we need to put on his shirt multiple times and he refuses to put his shirt back on.  I'm so ready to go, so we do.  There we are walking out of the Target with the bag of towels l lost in the parking lot that day and a shirtless kid.  My black Friday adventure.

It's been a while....

I recently uploaded some pictures of what we have been up to for the last month.  I am a little behind.  My friend started a blog and has inspired me to pick it back up.  I notice that pictures and short captions actually will do.  More to come with the holidays and new baby that we are all excited about.  The last couple of days we have been in the house being homebodies with the snow outside.  Eli did not like the feeling of the cold snow and began to fake cry.  This is the first real snow he has been old enough to remember.  I better get, as of right now he is watching Toy Story 3 in Spanish on the ipad on the table, chewing on a straw.
