Our house woke up at 2 am with Eli yelling for Ma. Both Brian and came in and puke was all over his new bed. Wednesday of that week several daycare workers and kids were out with a stomach bug and I was thinking we were in the clear. I should have known something was up cause the kid never is a picky eater but this week he barely ate dinner several nights in a row. Saturday night we caved and gave him some O's after he didn't touch his dinner just trying to get him to eat something and no more than two bites went down. He had also attended a birthday party earlier that day at a jump house and didn't play on one jump toy or eat cake. That should have been a big clue.
After several puking episodes we were all back to bed within the hour and Eli woke up and said, "Feel better ma". I was so thankful we didn't all wake up with puke all over us. I was also thankful I didn't get it well not yet....and Brian didn't either. I can't even remember the last time Eli puked it's been that long. It has been at least over a year. I felt so bad for the little guy. When he puked as a baby he was too young to know what was going on but this time he knew something was wrong and I think it scared him a bit. Thankfully we got it out the way and can now prepare to enjoy the holiday with no more puke episodes. He is on the mend and has eaten some basic foods, fluids and regular mood.

Eli Visits Santa - Thursday, December 2, 2010
This was another sweet adventure for Eli. He will do anything for a candy cane and waited patiently on Santa's lap while the photographer changed the film on the camera. We were very excited to get another Santa with a real beard this year. Nordstrom Bellevue Santa has been our tradition every year. Santa sits in a quiet room with no other distractions so the pictures always turn out great (depending on child of course). We have been lucky every year thus far. Eli told Santa he wanted jelly beans, lollipops and apples. We can't wait to get the photos cause the photographer attacked me with kisses from a stuffed reindeer animal. He giggled and smiled so big! Another sweet holiday memory.

Black Friday Adventure
So today I left the house around 9 am thinking I'm gonna do some early Christmas shoppping, kid free. I got to Target and was among many mothers who did not have the luxury of leaving their children at home and I felt sooo lucky to just be shopping by myself. After being there for 2.5 hours wandering around the store I was ready to check out. I get to the check out line and realize I don't have my credit card. I left it on my in-table from doing some morning on-line Black Friday shopping. I can't believe I did this, well actually I can. I ask the lady if she can ring everything up and then keep it all together. So, they do and I walk with the guy over to Customer Service and leave my name and cart. I then proceed to go home and realize I have 1 miles worth of gas. I don't have anything to buy gas with so I head home. Grab the credit card and end up having to take the kid to give my husband a break so he can get the Christmas lights up. I run in get the card, and make myself a half a turkey sandwich since I haven't eaten all morning. While I'm trying to get Eli in the car Clancy (our dog) jumps in the car and snags the sandwich I left on the console that I was planning on eating on the way back to Target. Damn! I run in make us a new half to share. We float down as many hills as we can to the gas station in neutral and make it. We fill up and head to Target to purchase the items. We get to customer service and Eli does fairly well since we just have to go in and purchase our cart. I decide to walk and get two more items and add it to the load of crap we already have in the cart at customer service. We do great and leave. As we are in the parking lot, a bag of towels falls off the top and a couple behind me helps pick it up and put it back in the cart. I load the car and leave. I'm so proud that the trip was quick and we had no issues form Eli and were just in and out. So we get home and I realize we are missing 6 towels of 8 that I purchased. They never made it home. I immediately get on phone to Target and the manager gal says they can check the lot and check the video coverage. I think to myself I'm never getting these towels back if I don't get back in the car and go back to Target. So in the car we go for the third time, meanwhile it's 12:30 (lunch time) and I can't believe I have to go back. I throw Eli in the car no shoes and head to customer service and see how sympathetic I can looking being pregnant carting a kid around with no shoes. After telling three people the story, waiting 20+ plus minutes, they decide to look in the back and find 5 towels they found in the parking lot. Thank god! I have to eat the cost of one towel out of the whole ordeal. My receipt clearly shows I paid for 8 towels Eli's patience starts to fade and decides he wants to take off his shirt. I tell him we need to put on his shirt multiple times and he refuses to put his shirt back on. I'm so ready to go, so we do. There we are walking out of the Target with the bag of towels l lost in the parking lot that day and a shirtless kid. My black Friday adventure.

It's been a while....
I recently uploaded some pictures of what we have been up to for the last month. I am a little behind. My friend started a blog and has inspired me to pick it back up. I notice that pictures and short captions actually will do. More to come with the holidays and new baby that we are all excited about. The last couple of days we have been in the house being homebodies with the snow outside. Eli did not like the feeling of the cold snow and began to fake cry. This is the first real snow he has been old enough to remember. I better get, as of right now he is watching Toy Story 3 in Spanish on the ipad on the table, chewing on a straw.

Pinto Beans
So the other day my kid and I went for veggie tacos in West Seattle. The tacos of course were delicious whole pinto beans with delicious toppings like guacamole, sour cream the works on white corn. These are a little hard to handle for a two year old as you can imagine. The filling comes spilling into the basket, if I'm lucky. The first glob of toppings goes right on the floor. I used to feel bad about it especially if we were in a restaurant that had carpet flooring but we were on tile floor. I think I've gotten used to it happening but always try to do my part to pick up any huge messes. This time several pinto beans had fallen on the ground with globs of cream. So I of course did my clean up effort. After we devoured our veggie tacos we were off to the park.
It was still a jean day in June although I was wearing my jeans rolled up as the temp was a little up. The day was getting a little cooler and actually I was looking like a dork with my jeans rolled way up and saw some neighbors at the park. So, I tried to look a little decent and roll my jeans back down to normal length. Thank god no one was looking but out rolls a PINTO BEAN out of the cuff of my pant leg. Thank goodness no one saw and we all looked a little half put together at the park.
Today, was one of the warmest days of the year, so we went to the zoo. While we were taking a break on a bench. E looks around and looks up at me and says, "Nice Day". It's these moments that make the pinto bean moments worth it.

Finally....
This is officially my first blog post. I have thought about doing a blog, I think several dozen times. Now, I guess I'm either too bored or feeling inspired. My kids daycare has a blog about the kids and so do other parents about theirs. I guess I'm feeling the need to document now while I can remember things not just about my kids and my animals but about my life. I swear so many funny things happen to me daily that I never would have imagined. I have my friends to tell these unusual things to and lifes memorable moments but usually, I forget by the time I see them. So here it goes, if you would like to share my life's smiles and odd things that happen to me, follow me on my blog.
